This page is in sore need of updating! I haven’t had a chance to fix it up since we changed domain names (although our mission is still the same). It’s on my to do list. But, you know what it’s like with little ones running around :)

Delighting in the Days is here to encourage you to live mindfully, to treasure the moments with your precious children, and find joy and satisfaction in the day to day.

I want my home to be a healthy, happy place.  I want your home to be a healthy, happy place.  It is my hope that this blog will aid you in that endeavor (as writing them will aid me).

At Delighting in the Days you can expect to find:

  • Motivation to look to God for peace and joy
  • Practical homemaking tips and tools
  • Yummy real food recipes
  • Activities to enjoy with your kids

A little about me

My name is Stacy.

Two of my most important roles include being a wife to my preacher husband and mom to our three children.  (I take my role as sister and daughter pretty seriously too.)

I was born and raised in Australia, but currently live in the U.S.A. My husband is an American. I moved here to marry him in 1998!

We homeschool our kids and feel confident that it is the best thing for our family.

On this blog I refer to our children as:  SugarBean (oldest daughter -born in‘01), Little Mister (son – born in ‘04), and Little Miss (youngest daughter – born in ‘09).

I love to cook! If you stop by my house unannounced you are likely to find my kitchen a mess and the kids and I covered in flour! (I’m not exaggerating.)

It is my goal to have a home full of joy and peace. Be sure to note the word goal.  This is something I am striving for and working on.  I’m a real Mom like you.  Some days are more successful than others.

I started this journey, as wife and mother, with very little know-how and have spent plenty of time feeling as if I am just muddling through.  But I have learned a lot along the way.

The Proverbs 31 woman worked with her hands in delight (Proverbs 31:13).   I pray we do the same as we serve our families to His glory.

    I’m Jenn of Beautiful Calling. I’m the SAHM to Chloe (2007) and John (2008). We’re starting our first year of homeschooling this August and are very excited. We also spend a lot of time in the kitchen :)

    Your site is a true delight and I love the reciepes and post…very great to meet you and I will be back again and again.

    We don’t have children, as that was God’s will, but we have been happily married 9 years and I am trying to make us a wonderful, comfortable and joyful home.

    I found your blog either through the Simple Organic/Simple Mom/Simple Bites websites, or the Passionate Homemaking blog. (In case you track those kinds of things!) I’m working on being more eco-friendly and using more “natural” products in my home. I like your recipes and your ideas for homemade personal care products. Your blog is a little dash of calm.     Okay – just remembered how I got here – from “The bigger Picture.” I don’t have small children, but I have a 22 year old autistic son. Life changed as I knew it 22 years ago – I couldn’t ask for a better child to mother. I’ve learned so much. I will be returning here because I like you concept of creating a joyful, stress-free, peaceful home as well as your recipes. Also, your inspirationals are comforting. I shall return! :-)

    Hi Stacy, I just googled God,help me to be a better Mother, and your blogg came up, so,I’m looking forward to reading more. I’m having a hard day today, keep telling myself I have done everything wrong as a mum I know I need the lords guidance in my life, but right now I don’t even feel like I deserve that

      I want you to know I am praying for you. Looking to God is the best place to start – you are a wise woman!

      If you can get a hold of any of Sally Clarkson’s books, they will encourage and motivate you.

      I’d also recommend her blog: I Take Joy

      Inspired to Action is another wonderful blog to find encouragement and practical advice.

      Most importantly, keep leaning on God. Pray and read your Bible…they will fuel you.

      Motherhood is tough, but you CAN do it!
