We have used a Berkey water filter in our home for the past 5 years. I love it. Truly.
The water tastes great and I can rest assured knowing the bad chemicals and other impurities have been filtered out.
The Berkey comes in many sizes, we have the Big Berkey, because that is what fit best in our space. Although, I think I would have liked the next size up if I had room.
I like that the Berkey is a free-standing unit. This makes it portable. Since it doesn't require electricity to work, you can take the Berkey anywhere.
Even on camping trips.
The wonderful thing about Berkey water filters is that they can filter just about any water. Even rain or river water, if necessary.
The Berkey filters out heavy metals, like mercury and aluminum, pesticide residues, and volatile organic compounds. It can also filter fluoride if you choose (to do that you need to install the fluoride filters).
Having water free from impurities is a wonderful privilege I don't take lightly. It is something I am so thankful for.
The Berkey is a great alternative to expensive whole house filtration systems. It does the job well for much less.
Do you use a water filter? If so, I'd love to hear about it.
