If you want a quick and powerful reminder to live life seeing it’s true value, appreciating the little moments that make up our days, months and years…then you need to watch this video!
I just watched it and it took a mere two seconds for the tears to fall. I was excited to see this because Ann’s book, One Thousand Gifts, is in the mail heading towards my home as we speak. I can’t wait to read it.
I’m not sure if the tears came so fast because I so recently hugged my family around the neck and said goodbye, leaving them on the other side of the world.
I’m still tender I suppose.
Or maybe it is because this last year was one of my hardest. Stressful on many levels. But wonderful too.
I want to always see the good, but I don’t. It’s so important to keep on striving for that though, isn’t it? I’m sure with practice and maturity it comes more naturally.
Maybe I cried so quickly because my little baby is growing. While I find so much joy in her new adventures, I feel a little pang in my heart. She will not be with me forever. And she shouldn’t be. But it’s so hard to let go!
Or perhaps it is knowing the truth of God’s love. Knowing that the many blessings I have are completely undeserved. And at times, far less appreciated than they should be.
It is easy to be caught up in the difficulties of life. The exhausting, struggling moments. To forget that much joy is intertwined among them. That strength and happiness grown from them. If we will allow it.
Here’s to noticing the good. To keeping our eyes ever open to the gifts God bestows on us each and every day.
I pray God will help us do this, dear reader. And I pray we will let Him.
