Up until a few years ago, I had no idea!
It was a wonderful discovery, because coconut oil is one of the healthiest oils on the planet.

I tried to eat coconut oil – it makes me gag. What’s the easiest way to get it down ??
Did you eat it straight from the jar? If so, that would make me gag, too!
I usually use coconut oil to saute and fry veggies and meat, in baking, to pop popcorn. I also use it as a lotion.
Some people add it to smoothies, but I still have to practice the right way to do this because it always goes solid with cold ingredients.
OH MAN! I never thought to top popcorn with it . . . oh, it’d be great to make a kettle corn”ish” treat.
I spread a thin layer on whole wheat bread and top with peanut butter or almond butter. Makes a great breakfast!
So do I! And add it to smoothies, shakes, oatmeal, and breakfast quinoa =)
