Many people think they can’t eat a whole food diet because it is too expensive. I know, I was one of those people.
Paralyzed at the grocery store, I felt that the only way to feed my family well was to spend most of our paycheck on “Organic” food.
Thankfully, I have learned that it is not necessary to spend our life savings in order to eat healthfully. It really is possible to eat real food without breaking the bank.
Stephanie, from Keeper of the Home, has written an excellent book about how to eat healthy for less: Real Food on a Real Budget
I bought the book shortly after it was released and was more than impressed. In-depth and thorough, Stephanie has produced a high quality resource that will benefit most anyone who is interested in saving money on good food.
Since it is Giving Month and since this book is being offered at an AMAZING price right now, I want one of my dear readers to have a copy. I appreciate all of you who stop by and spend a little of your time here. Thank you!

Oh, I’d love to win this! I buy through co-ops, make my own kefir and cure my own olives (1.75 a pound!)to save money but somehow I always spend more than I want to.
Sometimes I feel like we spend a fortune on groceries, so I’d love to read this book.
I’ve found ways to combat the expense by doing my own things — drying our own tomatoes, purreeing our own pumpkins and freezing. Nonetheless, savings ideas = awesome!

Wow, This book looks awesome! Can’t wait to get my hands on this one. Most of my friends, especially those with a family are always saying they can’t afford to eat healthy. I agree with you, it can seem that way in the beginning, but as you learn more about healthy eating, it does not have to be so expensive!
