What is Plexus Slim?

What is Plexus Slim

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I would be trying a 30 day experiment with Plexus Slim to see if it would help alleviate some of my Hashimoto’s symptoms. I gave a brief description about the supplement, but thought some of you would like to know more about the ingredients and what they do.

Plexus Slim is a natural drink that contains a variety of plant extracts. It is helpful in balancing blood sugar, hormones, cholesterol, and lipids. Many have had success with relief from auto-immune issues (such as those connected with Hashimoto’s, and psoriasis) fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue.

Plexus Slim was originally designed to help patients with diabetes regulate blood sugar, but when it was noted that all test participants lost weight, it was then decided to market it as a weight loss product.

To be completely honest with you, I avoided it because the packaging made it look like a chemical concoction. At least that was my perception.

I didn’t consider it until I saw a few natural living mama’s I respect recommending it.

Plexus Slim comes in powder form and is mixed with water to create a light, refreshing drink. It tastes quite sweet, actually. It is not a meal replacement, but rather a food supplement.

So, what is in Plexus Slim?

Here is a run down of the ingredients and a brief overview of their benefits:

Chlorogenic Acid

Found in bamboo, prunes, peaches, and other plants. Is known to aid in lowering blood pressure and may have antioxidant effects.

Plexus uses a proprietary blend of Choloregenic Acid Extract from Green Coffee Caffae arabica bean which contains less than 2% natural caffeine.

Citrin K (Garcinia Cambogia)

Garcinia Cambogia is found in a plant grown in Indonesia. It may help block fat absorption, reduce appetite, improve mood, aid sleep, and help with emotional eating.

Alpha Lipolic Acid

Is found naturally in the human body and also in foods such as spinach and rice bran. Known as a powerful antioxidant, Alpha Lipolic Acid may aid in blood sugar control. Could also help with brain function and age-related conditions.

Chromium (Amino Nicotinate GTF)

Is known as an essential trace element. Chromium GTF is used to help control blood sugar for people with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes and pre-diabetes.

Also used to support those with depression, to lower and cholesterol and raise good cholesterol, aid in weight loss and muscle gain, improve athletic performance and increase energy.

A form of soluble fiber. Used to take the place of sugar in beverages and as a thickening agent and stabilizer.

Citric Acid

A organic acid that acts as a natural preservative.

Beet root extract

Used for coloring.

Stevia leaf extract and Lo Han extract

Stevia leaf extract and Lo Han extract are both natural sweeteners that don’t spike the blood sugar.

My experience so far

The first thing I noticed after taking Plexus Slim for a few days is that I was sleeping better (much more deeply). I have also lost a few pounds, but am not sure I can attribute it to the Slim, since I am also working on eating an auto-immune diet. But, many, many people are losing tons of weight. You can read their testimonials here.

I did sign up as a distributor so I could get the products at a lower rate, since I figured I would actually try my experiment for three months instead of one.

I’m hearing lots of people experience a decrease in ailments of all kinds when taking this supplement. Balancing blood sugar is helpful for the body as a whole and allows the body to deal with whatever issues it’s facing.

One mom even said she is less irritable and no longer yelling at her children. Which makes total sense since blood sugar issues wreak havoc on the mind as well as the body.

I’ll keep you updated.

  1. This product sounds intriguing as I have had fibromyalgia for 20 years and need to lose about 20 pounds. Losing some pain as well as some weight sounds like a dream combo to me.

    1. Losing and pain and weight would be a wonderful thing! I’ve heard of it happening!

I’m sorry you are dealing with fibromyalgia, I know that can be very painful.

  2. Hi Stacy,
This supplement sounds so good but I am scared to take anything with Garcinia Cambrogia (sp) in it because I have read it is toxic to the liver—do you know anything about this? Thanks! Julie

  3. “many have had success with relief from auto-immune issues”……This is a completely unsubstantiated claim. Where is the proof of that? Hashimoto’s Disease is a very serious condition, and there is nothing in the ingredient list to give any indication that Plexus Slim can treat an autoimmune disorder. I hope that readers dealing with this serious health issue will research this product carefully before paying a considerable amount of money for a product that seems to do little more than affect blood sugar levels-something that can be accomplished with a healthy diet and simple exercise, such as taking a long walk each day.

    1. I understand what you are saying and as someone who suffers from Hashimoto’s, I don’t take these things lightly, which is why I am experimenting with this for a time to see if it helps me.

    2. To MDAVIS, on your comment “blood sugar levels-something that can be accomplished with a healthy diet and simple exercise” is so far from sound the truth. Please tell me you’re not giving out unqualified medical advice. Until you have Type I diabetes, eat a healthy diet and exercise and still have blood sugar issues, you really don’t know the full scope of this disease. Stop preaching.

  4. Well, i am in the same situation as for , beginning Plexus Slim…i actually lost 5.3 lbs in 3 weeks,it seems like i have a little more energy. I also have Fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, shoulder pains and back and neck pain because of bulging discs etc. I just ordered the Pain relief Spray, can’t wait to try it. Good Luck !!

    1. Awesome, Nina! That’s great news.

I’m using the fast relief cream and liking it a lot. Would like to try the fast relief supplement next. I’ve heard it is very helpful for reducing inflammation.

  5. This sounds like something I might try. I have fibromyalgia and have been having migraines everyday for the past 7 months. I have not been able to exercise and have gained 20 lbs. I have 2 questions, now that you have been on this for about the last few weeks, have you noticed any changes in your hashimoto disease? And (2) since you are a distributor, if I order off your wall, wil I be ordering from you?

    1. Hi Debbie,

So far I am noticing better sleep and more energy. I feel a little more even-keeled, if that makes sense. I don’t feel that I can just eat anything I want and this will take care of the rest, but I do feel a little more calm and in-control.

I have lost a few pounds, but I am not sure if that is from the Plexus Slim or a few dietary tweaks I made recently (or both).

Yes, if you order through any links on this page you will be ordering through me 🙂

Please feel free to ask any questions. If I don’t know the answers I will find someone who does.

Hope you are having a good day,

  6. I was suggested this web site by my cousin. I’m not sure
whether this post is written by him as nobody else know such detailed about my difficulty.
    You are amazing! Thanks!

  7. Hey, I went to the plexus site to buy and it wanted my ambassadors number, is that you or do I say I don’t have one? Thanks 🙂

    1. Hi Debbie,

Thanks so much for asking. I am an ambassador and would be thrilled if you ordered through me. My ambassador number is 228741.

Excited for you to try it out.

    1. Hi Tessa,

I can report improved energy and sleep. But my Thyroid numbers are still a work in progress. I’m not currently on any medication, which I made need to change. Many friends have told me that they have reduced their medication after being on Plexus for a while, so we will see how I go!

Sorry you have Hashimoto’s! It’s really no fun.

  8. Good to hear. I would love to hear how it works for you down the road. Are you doing Pink and the Accelerator?

    1. Just the Pink, Tessa. I thought the Accelerator might be too much for me at the moment. Just because I seem to be sensitive to caffeine.

  9. I just like the valuable information you supply for your articles.

I will bookmark your weblog and take a look at again right here regularly.

  10. Hi Stacy, I found your blog while searching for info about Plexus. It was neat to see that you’re a normal, natural living mama who takes it! I also was skeptical about the packaging and name but I am wanting to try it out as well. A friend of mine has been using it and loves it. I have borderline hypoglycemia and am interested to see if it aids in that at all. I noticed you wrote this in March. How has it been so far for you? I’m glad I came across your blog.

    God Bless.
